The trials, tribulations and triumphs of the becubicled human

Working day in and day out in cubicles, a person becomes accustomed to a new set of words to describe their everyday environment. Words like "water cooler", "TPS report" and "donuts in the copy room" are heard on a regular basis. Eventually the person becomes part of squinty eyed subset of humans using phrases that free range humans would barely comprehend.

Well for the people who spend all of their time using these words, I've come up with a new word to describe their state of existence:

Becubicled (bee-cue-bik-eld)
adj.
Working in a cubicle; "I wasn't working long at my new job before I found myself becubicled"

Cube Loot

You know, life confined to a cubicle isn't all bad. There is, after all, the cornucopia of office supplies to be had stowed away in the office supply cabinets! To the cubicle denizen, these office supply cabinets are like treasure chests to a pirate.

Just yesterday I ventured to these storage cabinets in search of their bounty. As I approached the grey metal cabinets, a sense of nervous excitement overcame me. What wonders would I behold when I threw open these flimsy doors? I cracked open the cabinet door and the harsh fluorescent light reflected off of the plentiful binder clips, ballpoint pens, legal pads and other fantastic goods. A strange urge came over me to pilfer it all for myself and secretly bury it under the removable floor panels of my cubicle. Then I'd be someone to be reckoned with! Yarr!

But instead I meekly grabbed a single notebook and hurried back to my desk.
